Session View

You can create music in Live in two different ways. Session View in Live allows you to freely mix and match musical ideas without thinking about where your song begins or ends.

Arrangement View

The Arrangement View is where you can develop an initial idea or organize your parts to create the right musical flow for your song.

You can also simply record everything you do in Session View in Arrangement View to improvise all the way to a finished song.

Audio and MIDI Recording

Record audio from hardware synthesizers, drum machines, guitars, or any real-world sound using your audio interface. You can also use MIDI or connect your controller to create music with Live’s included sounds or a wide range of software instruments.

Instruments and Effects

Live Lite includes all the sounds you need to create complete tracks.

Use Live 12 Lite kits or design your own kits to create beats. Open one of the included Instrument Racks to add melodies and harmonies. Process, mix, or modify with audio and MIDI effects like Redux, Phaser-Flanger, Limiter, Expression Control, and more.
